What are the Benefits of High Strength CBD Oil?
There are loads of CBD products for sale in the UK. But if you take a close look, they all pretty much follow the same format. Usually the CBD strengths will range from 5% to 20%. But what if a person wants something stronger?
The strongest product we sell is our 40% CBD Oil. This product is loved by many of our customers because of its cost-effectiveness and the great effects they experience when they take it.
Did you know it is almost impossible to have a CBD oil that is more than 40% in potency? That’s because real CBD extracts become solid and congeal at higher potencies.
If a product says it is 50% or even 60% CBD, and in an oil form, then it is probably not true or using a cheap CBD isolate.
This article will explain all about high strength CBD oil, including what to watch out for when you’re buying.
How do you measure the strength of CBD oil?
Normally, the ratio of CBD to carrier oil is printed on the packaging. The price will also dictate the potency of the product.
If the potency is not on the packaging as a percentage (i.e. 10%) then use our guide here. In this guide, you will learn how to determine the exact percentage of any product and make a more informed decision before you buy CBD oil.
How is strong cbd oil made?
Before a CBD product goes on sale, the company producing it will take a raw extract from the plant. We call this CBD distillate and its potency usually hovers around 85% to 95+%. The distillate is then reduced down using a carrier oil to the desired potency.
It is a careful process with many tests involved to ensure potency and cannabinoid content. Usually percentages are rounded to the nearest number. All of our products are actually a bit more potent then stated as we would rather give more CBD than less. You can verify this here.
You can see the exact percentage of THC, CBD, CBC, CBN, CBG and all the other cannabinoids are clearly listed.
We have products ranging from 5% CBD to 40% CBD. CBD is measured in milligrams (mg) and the volume of the bottle determines the strength of the CBD oil.
For example 1000mg of CBD in a 10ml bottle is will be a 10% product. But if you take that same 1000mg of CBD and put it in a 30ml bottle, that product will only be 3.3%.
Will strong CBD oil get you high?
No! Even very high percentage CBD products will not get you high.
The substance that gives you that high is called THC. Our 40% CBD oil contains less than 0.2% THC so it won’t get you high and this also means that it’s legal in the UK.
The reason we include THC in most of our products is so that people can benefit from ‘the entourage effect’. This is when CBD is able to interact with the other cannabinoids and terpenes within the oil.
These other cannabinoids help the CBD interact and bind with the endocannabinoid system in the body.
Dr Adie Rae, a neuroscientist, says “A little bit of THC goes a long way” when speaking about the importance of the entourage effect.
How can you guarantee how strong CBD Oil is?
When you buy CBD oil it is important to make sure that there are third-party lab reports available. Not only will these be able to tell you the amount of CBD in your product but they can also tell you the percentage of THC, CBG and other cannabinoids.
If you buy CBD oil from companies without lab reports available then you are in danger of paying high prices for something that may not be able to deliver any results.
There is also the risk that companies selling high percentage CBD oil without lab reports may be selling illegal products because the amount of THC exceeds 0.2%.
What are the benefits of strong CBD Oil?
High strength CBD oil has a number of benefits. First, if you are taking large quantities of CBD oil then it may be more cost effective to buy a higher strength CBD product. Each drop of our 10% full spectrum product contains 5mg of CBD but each drop of our 40% full spectrum product contains 20mg of CBD. The price per mg is 0.06 and 0.03 respectively. Additionally, strong CBD oil will help you feel the other benefits of CBD with fewer drops.
Is it safe to take high strength CBD Oil?
Yes, it is safe to take high strength CBD oil in most cases. In the UK, the FSA recommends that you do not take more than 70mg of CBD per day. This would be taking more than 3 drops of our 40% CBD product. This shows how long a bottle of a high strength CBD will last! It is great value for money. It’s also important to buy organic CBD so that your product does not contain any pesticides or toxins.
It is important not to take CBD Oil without consulting your doctor if you take any other medication (including hormonal contraception), have any conditions or are pregnant, trying for a baby or breastfeeding.
What’s the best way to take CBD?
You can buy CBD in many different forms such as capsules, oil and even sweets! We would recommend CBD oil as the best way to take strong CBD. Oils are the least processed CBD products. This means they contain the widest range of cannabinoids, terpenes and nutrients.
If you are buying a high strength CBD oil you want to make sure you get the most out of the oil you’re buying. Simply swallowing will not let you get the best out of your CBD oil. Some studies have estimated that if you swallow your CBD oil your body will only digest 5% of it. The best way to take CBD oil is to hold the number of drops you want under your tongue for 3-4 minutes before moving it around your mouth and then swallowing. This means that the oil is absorbed into your bloodstream so it can go straight to your liver to be broken down.
Are there any side effects of using strong CBD oil?
CBD oil has some short-term minor side effects in some people. These are likely to be more common if you are taking larger amounts of CBD oil. Side effects include diarrhea and decreased appetite but these tend to pass within a few days. If this is your first time trying CBD oil it may be better to start with a lower dosage. This is so that you can work out how much you need to feel the effects of CBD.
Summarising High Strength CBD Oil
High strength CBD Oil is a great option for people who are looking to feel the benefits of CBD in the most cost effective way. Strong CBD won’t get you high because it contains low levels of THC. However, it’s important to buy from CBD companies that publish third-party lab reports. These lab reports will not only help you be certain about the strength of CBD that you’re buying but also show that the products contain legal amounts of THC.
If you’re just starting out with CBD it’s probably best to start off with a lower dose so that you can see how your body reacts to CBD. Every person interacts with CBD differently as the speed of your metabolism determines how you feel the effects of CBD. If you take any medications you should make sure to speak with your doctor before trying CBD.
